This is the picture that will amaze plenty and bring a smile to all.
Julian Huxley continued along his comeback path yesterday, joining the senior ACT Brumbies squad in a training session at Griffith.
A fit and healthy Huxley is on the verge of a momentous comeback to sport, having overcome a brain tumour discovered two years ago.
He and his legal team and the Brumbies lawyers had all-but finalised contracts last night that would allow the 30-year-old to make his return to rugby.
The club had hoped to announce the news yesterday but still had minor contractual issues to sort through.
It's hoped today would be the groundbreaking day Huxley was confirmed to be back.
Should that be the case, he would play for the Brumby Runners against the Junior Waratahs at Sydney's Knox Grammar School on Sunday.
Form permitting, he could even earn selection in the Brumbies Super 14 side to play the Auckland Blues at Eden Park in seven days time.
While everybody will be thrilled he has fought his way back, opinions will be divided on whether Huxley should be taking the risks involved in a professional comeback, given the seriousness of the injury.
But his teammates have backed his return, saying they can't wait to have the former Wallaby back in a Brumbies jersey.
