Salvi aiming to 'get more ball'

13 May, 2009 08:28 AM
Mitchell Chapman has the height advantage but replacement flanker Julian Salvi says what he lacks in size, he'll make up for in ball-poaching prowess.

Salvi will start at No6 against the Waikato Chiefs on Friday night after Chapman was ruled out with a head injury.

Chapman's 197cm frame has played a major role in the Brumbies' improved lineout this season.

But while he may be 10cm shorter, Salvi remains confident he won't lack anything when it comes to taking on the Chiefs at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton.

''Chappo plays more of an open style of game whereas I see myself as more of an on-baller,'' Salvi said before joining his teammates on a flight to New Zealand yesterday morning.
