Stannard out to prove he's made of the White stuff

He lost his ACT Brumbies contract and his professional career is hanging by a thread, but James Stannard refuses to label his move to Canberra a failure.

If anything, the lack of success of his short stint with the Brumbies has made him more determined.

And as strange as it sounds, if the scrumhalf can help the Queanbeyan Whites to their third consecutive premiership tomorrow, Stannard will declare his time in the capital a success.

The Whites will play the Tuggeranong Vikings in the John I Dent Cup grand final at Viking Park tomorrow.

Stannard joined the Brumbies at the end of last year but played just one Super14 game.
