Arrest over sex attacks

28/08/2008 12:00:01 AM

POLICE have arrested a man suspected of assaulting six teenage girls and a woman at knife-point in western Sydney since April.

They arrested the 22-year-old from Rooty Hill at his workplace at Wetherill Park just after 9pm yesterday and took him to Fairfield police station.

Police have been looking for a buck-toothed man they say raped a 16-year-old in Quakers Hill in May after indecently assaulting a 19-year-old in Castle Hill in April. Another 16-year-old was raped at Mount Druitt in June while three teenagers escaped from attacks.

Police have executed search warrants on the man's workplace and three houses in Rooty Hill, Doonside and Glendenning.

Earlier this month police wrongly arrested a Minchinbury man after he handed himself into police when he saw video of him linked to the attacks.
