Comancheros boss charged with riot

28 May, 2009 12:44 PM
Comancheros boss Mick Hawi has become the sixth bikie to be charged with riot in relation to the fatal Sydney Airport brawl in March.

Hawi, 28, and five other men have now been charged with affray over the March 26 brawl which involved Hells Angels and Comancheros.

Anthony Zervas, 29, died as a result of the fight.

In Sydney's Central Local Court on Thursday, Magistrate David Armati read out the riot charge to Hawi and then continued the bail he was granted in the Supreme Court earlier this month.

Mr Armati also formally charged Ismail Erden, 26, Maher Aouli, 28, Pomare Pirini, 21, and Christian Menzies, 26, with riot.

The four men appeared via audiovisual link from jail.

Yesterday, Mr Armati granted bail to Zoran Kisacanin, 22, who had already been charged with riot.

Kisacanin has not yet met his bail conditions.

Mr Armati adjourned the cases of all six defendants to July 9, for mention in the same court.

A bail application by Erden is due to be heard in the Supreme Court later on Thursday.
