The pink bearded Manly winger has pulled off his fair share of practical jokes on teammates and coach Des Hasler lately which means he is constantly waiting for retribution.

It is why he called ''bullshit'' when told by his manager on Monday night he had been selected for a State of Origin debut.

He thought Manly newcomer Ben Farrar was getting payback after Williams tried to convince the former Cowboy to wear his team tracksuit to his first function last week when the rest of the team were in plain clothes.

''I actually called bullshit on him, I thought it was a sting,'' Williams said when describing how his manager told him 15minutes before the official announcement that he had made the NSW side.

''I tried to get one of the boys to wear his full tracksuit to a dinner we had where we didn't need to wear it hoping he would stand out but it kind of died in the arse a bit. I thought it was a bit of retaliation.

''I still didn't believe it. I was at my folks' house and I told them but I was still sort of thinking, 'Don't be so sure yet, wait to watch it'. Then I watched it and it finally hit home.''

But now that the ''Wolfman'' is in camp, he has another fear to overcome. The 22-year-old winger is convinced NSW coach Craig Bellamy wants to take a razor to his trademark facial hair.

And there's also the possibility that the pink dye he used to promote women in league last weekend could fade to a maroon colour by next Wednesday's ANZ Stadium clash.

''I'm getting scared that Bellyache [Bellamy] is going to come at me with a razor and shave it off,'' he said.

But what about the colour fading?

''I'm not letting that happen I will be dying it another colour before that happens.'' AAP
