Weyman is one of the NRL's standout front-rowers, with his barnstorming start to his career at the Dragons earning him selection in the NSW 40-man squad.

With NSW's props from last year Brett White, Willie Mason and Craig Fitzgibbon left out of the squad due to injury and form, and Newcastle's Ben Cross ruled out with a biceps injury, Weyman looms as a genuine contender for a role up front of the Blues pack.

But the 24-year-old can't even begin contemplating a game which is so far in the future, given he averaged just eight games a season over six years at Canberra due to injury and suspension.

''To be perfectly honest I'm not really worried about it,'' Weyman said about playing for NSW.

''I just want to play week in and week out and continue to enjoy my football. Whatever happens on the back of that happens.

''It's good to be noticed I suppose but there is a lot of football to be played between now and when the side is named.''

Weyman said his decision to leave the Raiders was one of the toughest of his career but felt he would look back upon it as an important step.

''I don't think it will be the only turning point in my career, there will be a lot of factors there, but it is certainly something I will look back on,'' he said. ''It was really hard leaving Canberra after being there since I was 16.

''It was like a second home to me, Canberra, and it was hard to leave, but it's something you've got to do and move on.''

Weyman is certain to be picked in the NSW Country side named on Sunday, the Moruya Sharks junior most likely to play alongside Dragons teammate Justin Poore.

They've formed a dominant front-row pairing at the Dragons this season, reuniting their 2002 Australian Schoolboys partnership, and Weyman said it was one of the reasons for his good form.

''Me and Poorey are pretty good mates and we enjoy playing together,'' he said. ''I'm happy off the field and just enjoying my footy on the field.'' AAP
