Indonesia fears Australian tourists visiting Bali are bringing swine flu to the country.
Indonesian Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari said yesterday she was ''very worried'' Australians would spread the virus following news that a Melbourne woman on holiday in Bali had become one of Indonesia's first swine flu patients.
Bobbie Masoner, 22, a British artist who has lived in Melbourne for at least six months, tested positive for the A(H1N1) influenza virus yesterday.
The minister said, ''Honestly I'm very worried about people who come from Australia''.
''We have to be more vigilant about Australian tourists so there won't be more cases of H1N1 from Australia. One is enough.''
The issue arises after confirmation that Australia had recorded its third swine flu-related death.
A 50-year-old woman with life-threatening bone marrow cancer died in the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute in Melbourne yesterday morning after being admitted with flu-like symptoms on Saturday. A test on Monday revealed she had the A(H1N1) virus.
Victorian Health Minister Daniel Andrews said the woman died at 3am ''as a direct result of the complications of her flu''.
