A woman was abducted at gunpoint and shot in the hand on her farm on the NSW mid north coast when she went to investigate why a vehicle was driving on her property, police say.
Police have now released images of a man and a woman wanted over the terrifying abduction at a property in Mungay Creek, about 30 kilometres north-west of Kempsey, in August this year.
Police said the 53-year-old woman saw what she believed was a green Holden Commodore driving towards the dam on her property about 4.30pm on August 7.
The woman driving the Commodore is thought to be aged between 25 and 35, between 150-160 centimetres tall, with light brown hair and a thin build. Photo: NSW Police Media
A young woman appeared to be driving the vehicle, and two other people were in the car.
The property owner drove towards the car to investigate why they were there.
When she reached the vehicle, a man wearing a balaclava and armed with a gun got out of the passenger's seat and confronted her.
He hit the woman in the face and fired a shot, while demanding drugs and money from her.
The gunman then ordered the woman to get into her own vehicle, before he and a second man from the Commodore got in with her.
They ordered the woman to drive towards her house.
During the short drive, the masked man fired two shots, one of which hit the woman in the hand.
The two men then ran away from the vehicle. The woman did not see them, or the young woman who was driving the Commodore, again.
The injured woman drove herself to Kempsey Hospital where she was treated for a gunshot wound to her hand and head injuries.
Police formed Strike Force Woid, comprising officers from Mid North Coast Local Area Command, to investigate the shooting and abduction.
They have released two images - of a man and woman - wanted over the attack.
The man in the image is described as being between 172-185 centimetres tall, with a thin, muscular build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded jacket and three-quarter length pants.
Police do not have an image of the second man, but he is described as being between 170-180 centimetres tall with a stocky build. He was wearing joggers and a jumper.
The woman driving the Commodore is thought to be aged between 25 and 35, between 150-160 centimetres tall, with light brown hair and a thin build.
Anyone who recognises the alleged offenders or has information about the incident has been urged to contact Kempsey Detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
