Man's body found stripped and bound
Newcastle police are investigating the killing of a 52-year-old man after his body was found lying in a Wickham park on Wednesday morning.
The man was not wearing any pants, and his hands appeared to be bound behind his back. His feet were also tied together, and his shoes were lying discarded close by.
The man appeared to be wearing only a brown T-shirt and black socks.
Police set up a tent in the park to shield the body from view.
Forensic police in overalls could be seen examining and photographing the area, while other officers searched the park and its surrounds.
The man, thought to have been aged in his 40s, has not been identified. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said detectives were canvassing the area.
