Gas leak causes buildings to be evacuated in Pyrmont
A gas leak caused buildings to be evacuated and traffic to be diverted in Pyrmont this morning.
The leak occurred opposite the Star casino on the corner of Jones Bay, Pirrama and Darling Island roads.
Traffic diversions were in place with buses diverted.

Gas company Jemena was on site, a spokesman, John Kingsley-Jones, said.
The damage was done by a third-party contractor to a 110-millimetre gas main, he said.
Superintendent Ian Krimmer from Fire and Rescue NSW said 35 people were evacuated from a building although he did not have the information on which building it was.

No injuries were reported, he said.
Pirrama Road was closed as a precaution, he said.
Staff in adjoining buildings were advised to remain indoors.
The leak was closed off after noon and repairs were under way.
Some roads were still affected.
