A western Sydney businessman says he was struck by a car as he chased a robber who grabbed a bag containing $500,000 cash from his car moments after he arrived home.

The man, 45, said he parked outside his Lidcombe house and went to get the bag containing the day's takings from his business when another man took it and ran off about 9.45pm on Monday.
Police wouldn't confirm the figure, only saying it was a "large amount". The businessman told media it was $500,000.
The victim chased the robber for about 50 metres before he was struck from behind by a white sedan, police said in a statement on Tuesday.
He suffered minor injuries while the robber can be seen in CCTV footage getting into the sedan as it sped away.
The man, a father of five, told Nine News the robber had tried to fight him as he grabbed the cash.
"He take it and run. I run, I follow him," he said.
His daughter told the network family members heard the commotion and ran outside to help.
"I just thought that my dad had died, something bad had happened.
"My heart was stopping and I was just screaming for my mum to come."
The man suffered cuts and bruises.
Police said the car turned left from Ostend Street onto Parramatta Road.
"It's concerning whenever violence is used against obviously members of the public and also with a vehicle," Detective Inspector Barry Vincent said.
