Former boxer Lucky Gattellari invested in a massage parlour and ran a string of prostitutes who he provided to business executives, a Sydney court has heard.
Gattellari confirmed that Candy, Coco, Chanel, Mimi and others were Asian escorts who were on the company payroll for "services rendered" to Gattellari's business associates.
When questioned about why some of them were paid by cheque, Gattellari quipped to the court that they were some of Mr Medich's "favourites".
Gattellari, 63, is giving evidence at the committal hearing of millionaire property developer Ron Medich.
Mr Medich, 65, is accused of ordering the 2009 murder of his business associate Michael McGurk.
Gattellari, a former boxing champ, is the Crown's star witness against his former benefactor, Mr Medich.
Central Local Court also heard that Gattellari had invested thousands of dollars in a massage parlour in Toongabbie.
In a series of heated exchanges with Mr Medich's barrister, Winston Terracini, SC, Gattellari said that he did not make diary entries of discussions with Mr Medich to murder Mr McGurk. "How absurd is that!"
The hearing continues.
