Man car-jacked at gunpoint in Sydney

Police are searching for two men after a man was car-jacked at gunpoint in Sydney's east.

The 32-year-old was walking to his Mercedes wagon at Vaucluse at around 6.30pm on Saturday when he was approached by two balaclava-clad men with pistols, police said.

The pair allegedly threatened the man and demanded the vehicle.

Officers, with the assistance of POLAIR, searched the area but the vehicle was not located.

Police said they are looking for two men.

The first man is described as being Caucasian, of solid build and about 180cm tall.

He was wearing a khaki-coloured hooded jumper, black and grey track pants and a black balaclava.

The second man is also described as wearing a black balaclava and was allegedly carrying a pistol.

The stolen Mercedes wagon is black in colour with NSW registration plates "CHP".
