A masseur has been charged with sexually assaulting a 67-year-old woman at a massage clinic on Sydney's lower north shore.

Police will allege the 42-year-old man sexually assaulted the woman twice during a consultation at a Lane Cove clinic on May 3.

Detectives arrested the accused at the clinic on Burns Bay Road on Wednesday afternoon.

He was charged with two counts of sexual assault.

His arrest came after the alleged victim reported the incident to police on May 21.

The man was granted bail and is expected to appear before North Sydney Local Court on June 18.

Investigating officers said the man also worked at other clinics in Ryde and Rhodes shopping centres.

Police said anyone with information about the accused was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
