A man has been stabbed and another is in hospital with critical injuries following separate assaults in central Sydney.
Paramedics were called to a licensed premises on Goulburn Street at the Haymarket at 3am (AEDT) on Sunday.
Police say a man, 34, suffered significant facial injuries after an assault.
He was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
Three men were arrested and a 33-year-old man is being questioned by detectives.
Another man is also being questioned by police following a stabbing in Surry Hills hours earlier.
Police were called to Elizabeth Street at 11.30pm (AEDT) on Saturday and found a man lying on the footpath with stomach wounds.
A knife was found nearby.
The injured man was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment for the stab wounds, internal injuries and fractures.
Police say a 29-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned by detectives.
