A Sydney-based pre-school teacher who had just got engaged has been identified as another Australian victim on board downed Malaysia Airlines Flight 17.
Gabriele Lauschet had taught at the German International School at Terrey Hills since 2000 and has been remembered as a much loved, caring teacher.
Only months ago the 47-year-old became engaged to another member of the school's staff, Andreas Schaaf, after she asked him to marry her.
They lived together with Ms Lauschet's adult son, Tim.
Originally from the west German town of Aachen, Ms Lauschet had been in her native country visiting her mother while on holidays before planning to return to Sydney before Monday's start of the school term.
The school has cancelled its planned staff development day and is offering counselling to teachers. Similar support will be offered to students when they return on Wednesday.
Ms Lauschet is the sixth NSW-based victim on board MH17 and the 38th nationally, at least 27 of whom were travelling on Australian passports.
Ms Lauschet was travelling on a German passport.
The German International School is expected to release a statement on Monday.
