A 12-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Sydney's west has been reunited with her family.
Police said Fatima Al-Shara turned up at Auburn police station about 11pm on Thursday, more than 24 hours after she went missing. She was safe and well.
Earlier in the day, police had launched a major search for the child after she vanished from her home home on Norman Street in Berala.
Fatima's desperate mother began searching the streets of Berala on Wednesday night, before flagging down a passing police car at 9.45pm to raise the alarm.
"Police hold serious concerns for the girl's welfare due to her age," police said in a statement at the time.
Police have not revealed details of where Fatima had been, but thanked the public and the media for their assistance in the search.
