A Queanbeyan man has been arrested and charged after allegedly attempting to groom a 14-year-old girl for sex.
Police allege the 27-year-old made contact with the girl over a social networking site in an attempt to groom her for sexual activity.
He was arrested at about 12.15pm on Thursday in a park in Bathurst and a search warrant was carried out on his home.
Police charged the man with use of a carriage service to groom a person under the age of 16, four counts of producing, disseminating or possessing child abuse material and use of a carriage service to transmit child pornography.
He has been refused bail and will appear in Bathurst Local Court on Friday.
