A group of whale watchers have discovered a man's body floating off Eden on the far south coast of NSW.
The group made the discovery on Wednesday afternoon about 1km offshore from Quondola Point, between Heycock Point and Lennards Head, and contacted emergency services.
The identified man, described as being Caucasian in appearance and aged in his 50s or 60s, was wearing blue jeans and a belt and work boots.
Eden Police Sergeant Stephen Judd said the body was found at around 1.15pm Wednesday and was carrying no personal items.
A passing tourist vessel is understood to have made the discovery.
“We are now making investigations in regard to the body. There is nothing further to report at this stage.”
Bega Police are investigating, and have appealed for public help in trying to identify him.
The death comes on the same day a teenager died while swimming with four friends in Tathra on the south coast.
