A woman will face court over the shooting of a man outside a Sydney sex club six months ago.

Michael Rooke, 52, was shot in the back, groin and foot in the car park of the gay and bisexual Aarows club at Rydalmere in the early hours of May 1, but survived.

Police have said it may have been a case of mistaken identity.

Three men are already before the courts in relation to the shooting. Court documents allege one of the men is an associate of the notorious street gang Brothers 4 Life.

Detectives from the Middle Eastern Organised Crime squad arrested a 26-year-old woman in Hurstville on Monday.

Police will allege she tried to help another person destroy evidence.

She has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to shoot with intent to murder and hindering the discovery of evidence for a serious indictable offence.

She has been bailed to appear in Burwood Local Court on January 23.
