A woman who was killed in an alleged hit-and-run on Thursday has been identified as a 58-year-old from Yagoona, in south-west Sydney.
After pleas for help identifying the woman, her family contacted police but have requested that her name not be released.
Paramedics were unable to revive the woman after she was hit by a car on the Hume Highway at Yagoona, on Thursday night.
A 20-year-old man, Ahmad Saraya, turned himself in to Guildford Police station on Friday morning and was charged with failing to stop after a crash.
Mr Saraya appeared in the Parramatta Local Court on Friday, and he was refused bail.
He is due to reappear at Bankstown Local Court on Monday.
Police are appealing for further information to locate a second car, described as a blue/black two door sedan, which was also on the road at the time of the collision.
