Young woman clocked at 200km/h

A young woman caught speeding at almost 200km/h has had her license suspended and her car impounded.

Police using a speed camera spotted a Mitsubishi Lancer speeding about 8.50am on Saturday on the Hume Highway at Bookham, near Yass, in southern NSW.

They clocked the vehicle at 198km/h before stopping the car and arresting the 19-year-old driver from South Australia.

Police suspended her licence and impounded her car for three months.

She was charged with dangerous driving and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.

The woman was granted conditional bail and will appear before Yass Local Court on February 5.
