Breen and four fellow Canberra athletes arrived in London last night to be fitted for their Australian uniforms.
Breen's parents will arrive in London on the weekend prepared to see their daughter realise her dreams. But as they were packing their bags, Bev Breen said she wasn't sure whether they had secured tickets to the event.
Each athlete gets an allocation of tickets that family can apply for.
Bev and Mike waited for Breen's selection confirmation before they booked flights, accommodation and then started to track down tickets for the race.
''Through Athletics Australia each athlete gets two tickets and we've applied for those so hopefully we get them,'' Bev said. ''We haven't got any other tickets … but as long as we're in the stadium we don't mind where we're sitting.
''I'm pretty sure we'll get the tickets, we've applied for them … but worst case is we watch it on a big screen somewhere. We just want to be in the same city, experience the atmosphere and be with Melissa.''
Breen won discretionary selection from Athletics Australia to secure her place in the 100 metres sprint at the Games.
She has since recorded a personal best and A-qualifier time of 11.27 seconds during her European training stint and is primed for her Olympic debut.
Breen, Lauren Boden, Brendan Cole, Martin Dent and Tristan Thomas suited up in their official green and gold uniforms for the first time last night.
The Games will begin with a spectacular show at the main stadium on Saturday morning but after the opening ceremony the athletics team will return to its base in Tonbridge - an hour outside of London.
There it will finalise preparations before entering the athletes village just before the athletics events begin.
