The new golden couple of Team GB, cyclists Laura Trott and Jason Kenny, have sent the British tabloids into a frenzy after confirming their relationship and being caught canoodling at the women's beach volleyball.
After the two-time track gold medallists were widely photographed enjoying a (very public) intimate moment at Horse Guards Parade, 20-year-old Trott woke up to the coverage in the morning papers before tweeting: "So yes its out there me and @JasonKenny107 are dating. Been a little while now just didnt want the distraction before the games x."

Such was the level of interest in the couple's love life, full-time celebrities Prince Harry and David Beckham — sitting alongside the pair — were relegated to the unfamiliar position of the sidelines.

The red-tops were hyped-up about the new glamour couple — Trott was a member of the women's team pursuit and won individual gold in the women's omnium, while 24-year-old Kenny won the men's sprint and was a member of the men's sprint team — resulting in countless photographs and plenty of analysis about the happy couple.
The Sun's headline screamed: "Laura's hot to Trott — 2-gold star snogs 2-gold Jase after meeting Harry", going into detail about how the Team GB gold medal heroes sat with Prince Harry drinking beer.
The Daily Mail opted for a cycling pun after the couple's very public display of affection. "Time to get a tandem? Cycling star Laura Trott confirms she is dating fellow double Olympic gold medallist Jason Kenny."
The media reports carried numerous references about how the pair were so smitten with each other that at times they seemed to ignore the gold medal game being played on the sand in front of them.
