Karsten Fosterling has plenty of reason to prove himself at his debut Olympic appearance in London.

Forsterling is joining the men's quadruple sculls after sitting on the edge of Olympic selection for Athens in 2004, before making it to Beijing as a reserve in 2008, but never actually taking the course.

In his eighth World Championship, Forsterling and his teammates won gold in 2011. It was his second medal having won bronze the year before, also in the quad scull.

Forsterling will be rowing in the quad sculls with Christopher Morgan, James McRae and Daniel Noonan.
