It all comes flooding back

Walter and Marion Griffin, designing Canberra, were greatly assisted by contour maps, provided in the competition documents, which recorded heights of floods down the Molonglo River over the previous 60 years. From the maps, Griffin imagined the lake that was so central to his design.
