Balgo's Indigenous Artists

Photographer Justin McManus visits Balgo, an Aboriginal community of around 400 people on the boundary of the Great Sandy Desert and the Tanami Desert of Western Australia. Balgo is regarded as one of the most important Aboriginal art centres in Australia, and art buyers from around the world make use of the settlement's tiny airstrip to fly in and purchase work directly from the corporation of artists. WARNING: THIS GALLERY MAY CONTAIN IMAGES OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE DIED.
