  • Sadly there are still many pockets of ignorance in Australian society. In the UK abusive fans are identified on video and racially abusive fans are banned for long periods or for life. If the technology is available there, why can this not be done in Australia?

  • Time is now, to adopt 'Zero' tolerance for people who can't fit in with general society. We are all better off without hooligans and spoilers.

  • There is a line that it seems some numbskulls do not get.

I don't think there is anything wrong with showing a bit of passion at the footy. criticism is fine.(when warranted, like an absolute howler of a decision).

More people simply need to stand up to morons who simply hurl abuse. Problem is if you do in the crowd, your more likely to be bundled out of the game along with the moron when security finally turn up.

    • Its good to stamp these things out but we need to be careful that its not the thin edge of the wedge. Demetriou and co are fuming about players criticizing umpires. The whole racial debate started with the players then focused moved to the crowd.

  • Its hard to find the right line between people supporting their team and stepping over the line. At the footy you shouldn't be able to abuse your own team, the opposition, or the umpire.
