  • Why would anyone want to work at a club in this kind of mess.
    If there is this j
Kind of double dealing going on when a coach is being appointed is it really going to be any different when the coach is losing games.

    • Because maybe it wasn't really like that! Don't believe everything Caro says.Read Rohan Connolly's piece for a more balanced view of the situation.
I'm sure Richardson's going in with his eyes wide open. He's been around the system long enough.Good luck to him.

  • StKilda is a useless rabble. Richo's not a bad bloke and he probably has no idea what he's gotten into. A club of 130+ years with just one premiership by one point - they certainly epitomise the term 'losing culture'.

  • Do you, Caro, ever have a positive word to say about anything? Now this saga (and the Essendon one) are over, what ever are you going to write about?

  • It seems to me unfortunate that the Administration facilitates such a deal. It changes the negotiations entirely if a club is suddenly not having to pay a six-figure sum for a contract broken to secure their candidate.
I sympathise with Port Adelaide and concur with Caroline's comments of the worth of the AFL contracts in this regard. A team not considered a financial powerhouse, having made a significant investment in Richardson has effectively had to cop a double hit.
If St Kilda wanted Richardson and could afford the market price to secure him then that is the price they should have to pay. It is not as though St Kilda negotiated with Richardson on the basis that the contract was worthless and they could avoid a significant payout on the non-compete. To do so is contrary to good faith compounded by the Administrations facilitation of the dealing.
