  • Sometimes, a surprise can be sprung. for example in 1974 Art Carney bobbed up in "Harry & Tonto". Much to my delight. Kiss of death for Art....he never got any good roles after that movie. But, he did break free of Jackie Gleeson!

I would like to see Judi Dench win in "Philomena". A heart string tears movie, about abuse set in Eire. Especially now, with so many people being abused by the institutions.

I know it won't happen. But................................
Perhaps justice could show her face and tell all the rulers to get stuffed......just this once.

  • A very poor year for film. 12 Years a Slave for an unsentimental look at this issue. Well made film with fine acting. Only weaknesses are Brad Pitt and some strange flashbacks.
