  • I yearn for the day when quality current affairs journalists presented in-depth stories of real significance, rather than chasing dodgy tradesmen through back-yards. Jana Wendt and Michael Schildberger understood what people really want to know and were prepared to stand up to producers who wanted to drag their shows into the gutter.

    I hope that Helen Kapalos can bring this level of integrity back to our screens. She is intelligent and personable. We need something better than the low-brow rubbish presented as current affairs over the past decade.

    Don't let me down Helen.

      dodgey tradesmen are the real "hard hitting current affairs" - or so we've been told for 20 yrs.

      There wouldn't be any reporters who would know how to do that anymore!!!!!!!

  • I thought the 1 hour news service was workign really well. I hated today tongiht with a passion but the format of presenting more newsworthy stories in some depth through the news was working well...

    the only thing that I was unsure about was when the sport and weather would be on.

    Hoepfully the Kapalos TT does actually improve the tone of journalism (if you could call old TT journalism).

    no more neighbours from hell, no more which supermarket is more expensive, no more granny duping lotharios and stories about things that matter.

  • I just can't see it happening a leopard does'nt change its spots. Even if they did change it they don't have the quality journalists to make this little pig fly they have no experience in producing quality journalism. As for Helen Kapalos well lets face it she really just reads off a teleprompter she is in no way a quality Journalist she has no input into the quality of the program even though 7 would have you think otherwise. Nope for me it will be the same old dreck

  • Having seen the recent standard of Ch7 and Ch9 news, you could be forgiven for thinking they had morphed the news into hour long TT and ACA shows instead.

    Trash journalism aimed at uneducated, mindless bogans!
