A four-year-old boy has drowned in a lake on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The boy was reported missing from his Wurtulla home at 7.30pm on Wednesday.

‘‘Police responded immediately,’’ a police spokeswoman said.

About 20 minutes later, police found the boy face down in the nearby Currimundi Lake.

Officers tried to revive the boy, but were unable to do so.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Nambour General Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the drowning.
