A man who was allegedly carrying several knives has been charged with causing a public nuisance in Brisbane.

Police were called to a disturbance involving two men at Cannon Hill about 10pm on Sunday night.

Officers allegedly found a number of knives on one of the men.

The 18-year-old is facing charges including going armed so as to cause fear and unlawful possession of a knife, and causing a public nuisance. He will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

The other man, 38, who was involved in the disturbance was not physically injured, police said.
