A man was kidnapped from his home south of Brisbane in an hour-long ordeal where he was driven around forced to withdraw cash from an ATM.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, was woken when two men entered his house in Heathwood and covered his head about 2.50am.

He was then driven from his Falkland Street property for about 15 minutes and taken to an ATM where his attackers made him withdraw cash.

Police said the victim was put back in the car and driven around for a second time before the kidnappers ditched him and the vehicle.

The victim then drove to a friend’s house in Inala and alerted police.

A police spokesman said the victim was taken to hospital but did not appear to have any serious injuries.

It is not known whether he knew his attackers or if he was able to identify them.
