Novy Chardon's husband John Chardon arrives home

The husband of missing Gold Coast woman Novy Chardon has returned to Brisbane from an overseas trip.

John Chardon touched down in Brisbane on Friday morning but didn’t comment when met by local media.

During an eventful week in the investigation, police dug up a Gold Coast hinterland backyard in search of a ute they believe is linked with her disappearance.

Mr Chardon, who was believed to have been in Indonesia on a business trip, has not provided any comment about the potential breakthrough in the case.

Police found no evidence to suggest Mrs Chardon’s remains are at the property.

But they eventually found a white ute in Dave Babbington’s Mount Nathan home on Thursday.

Mr Babbington’s lawyer said his client denies any links with Mrs Chardon’s disappearance.

Mrs Chardon was last seen on February 6 last year at her Upper Coomera home, and her vehicle was found days later at a nearby abandoned train station.

Mr Chardon has been named as a person of interest in the case by police.
