Police were forced to smash a car's windows to rescue four people when the vehicle caught fire after a pursuit in Brisbane's north.
Officers began to chase the 4WD when it allegedly failed to stop on the Bruce Highway at Brighton about 8.30pm on Thursday.
The 4WD became stuck in long grass near the Depot Road on-ramp near the Gateway Motorway at Deagon a few minutes later.

Officers approached the vehicle to arrest the three men and one woman inside, but police say the group resisted and attempted to drive off.
The grass under the vehicle caught fire and police broke the windows to remove the group.
Two men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police pulled four people from this 4WD before it burned.
One man was subsequently released, but the second remains in hospital being treated for injuries not related to the crash. He remains under police guard.
The fire also destroyed a police dog squad vehicle, but no officers or animals were injured.
Police say the officers showed great courage.

"The police did a tremendous job. They were placed in a very dangerous situation by the occupants of the vehicle," acting senior sergeant Allan Cook said.
"The occupants were wanted by police in regards to some serious offences that have been committed in recent weeks."
Police have since charged two men and a woman over the incident.
The two men have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and serious assault of a police officer. One man is due to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, while the second is due to face Sandgate Magistrates Court next month.
The woman has been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence. She is due to face Sandgate Magistrates Court on Friday.
