Police dog bites woman hiding in grassland after alleged Logan robbery

An alleged armed robber needed medical treatment on Sunday morning after she was bitten by a police dog while hiding in thick grassland.

Police said the women entered the service station on Paradise Road, Slacks Creek, about 12.20am on Sunday and one of them threatened a staff member with a knife.

However the pair left the Caltex store empty-handed, with one of the women allegedly attempting to open the cash register herself.

The women were arrested about 30 minutes later when they were located by the dog squad in a vacant lot, a police spokesman said.

One of the women needed first-aid treatment after being bitten by the canine.

A 30-year-old Inala woman and a 21-year-old Slacks Creek woman were charged with attempted armed robbery and will face the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
