An out-of-control party has left a police officer injured, a police car damaged and resulted in a slew of charges against male and female teenagers.

Police were called to an address at the intersection of Caselgrove and Roghan Road at Fitzgibbon on Brisbane's northside, where it is alleged about 140 teenagers had spilled onto the street and a number of small fights had broken out.

While trying to bring the crowd under control it is alleted a police officer was punched in the back of the head and an object was thrown, smashing the front windscreen of a police car.

A 16-year-old male from Bracken Ridge has been charged with two counts of assault or obstruct police and will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

Police also charged a number of other youths for resisting arrest and public nuisance.

The male officer sustained minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.
