Police officer suspended

A Queensland police officer facing allegations of misconduct has been suspended from duty.

The officer, from the QPS Central Region, will receive pay for two weeks. After that point, he will have to submit why he should continue to be paid.

In a statement released Monday, Queensland Police said the misconduct allegations were ‘‘in relation to a number of disciplinary matters’’.

‘‘In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have an undertaking to inform the public when a member faces disciplinary processes involving stand down or suspension,’’ the statement said.

‘‘This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.’’
