Missing Mackay girl found

Mother makes tearful plea for missing daughter to come home

A 12-year-old Mackay girl missing since Thursday has been found.

The young girl had not made contact with family for several days, but had been spotted on CCTV at a petrol station nearly 200 kilometres from her home.

Queensland Police confirmed the young girl was found on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, a 12-year-old girl from Kippa Ring who was last seen at a school in Rothwell at 1.50pm on Thursday, remains missing.

Her mother made a tearful appeal for the young girl to come home in a press conference on Sunday.

The girl is about 170cm tall with fair skin, green eyes and strawberry blonde hair. When she went missing she was wearing a yellow school sports shirt and blue sports shorts. She may be wearing a purple jacket and carrying a school backpack.

Police are urging anyone with information about either of the missing girls to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
