Serial child molester walks free in Qld

A Brisbane serial child sex offender has walked free despite admitting to having molested a young boy seven years ago.

Corey David Jamieson, 23, was given community service and a 12-month suspended sentence in the Brisbane District Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to indecently treating and raping a family friend in 2008 and 2009, when the victim was aged five and six.

Judge Terry Martin said it would be unjust to send Corey Jamieson to prison under the "exceptional" circumstances.
