Train delays after injury at Valley station

Train travellers are still experiencing delays of up to 20 minutes this after a man was injured at the Fortitude Valley station.

The man suffered minor abrasions, but it is not clear how he came to be injured, a police spokeswoman said.

The man has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

A Translink spokesman said the area had been cleared but ongoing delays are still being experienced.

Northbound trains on the Airport, Doomben, Ferny Grove, Shorncliffe, Caboolture and Sunshine Coast lines will be delayed about 15 minutes between Roma Street and Bowen Hills train stations.

"City train stations will be congested so customers are asked to be patient and may wish to consider alternative transport, wherever possible," Translink said in a statement on its website this afternoon.

Southbound trains on the Beenleigh, Gold Coast, Cleveland, Ipswich and Richlands lines will be delayed about 20 minutes.
