The widow of a Vietnam veteran whose war medals were stolen yesterday afternoon has pleaded for the return of her late husband’s prized possessions.
Five Vietnam War medals were among items stolen from Judith Tebbit’s Mount Cotton home, southeast of Brisbane, about 1pm on Sunday.
Ms Tebbit said the medals were among few special momentos of her husband who died just five months ago.
"The medals were in a nice box my husband had made and lacquered and put red velvet in," she told 612 ABC Brisbane.
"The sad part about it is I only buried my husband five months ago and now these are gone.
"They mean a lot - they're no good to anyone else - they're just memories and they're mine, they're my memories.
"If they've got them just to leave them anywhere and let them get back to me."
