  Overall a good movie with great actors especially young Tom and Naomie Watts. However one final comment baffled me when the guy from the insurance company shows up at the hospital and says something like "you are fine now - we aret taking you to a [state of the art} hospital in Singapore." I think this comment is very unfair toward doctors and nurses who worked day and night in hellish conditions doing their very best to deal with the unthinkable considering that they had to treat thousands of people in 24 hours and that we should all thank them for all the lives they saved. The movie should show these doctors/nurses more respect for what they did instead of making comments about how third world the local Thai hospitals are.

  Before the movie I was convinced they were going to undermine the local experience through the eyes of the foreigner, and was sure I was going to hate it. But actually, I think the deliberate, total focus on the one story is really well done. Had they tried to tell a bigger story they would only have failed, and the emotional connection wouldn't have been quite so strong -it was actually way more gripping and enthralling than I ever expected it to be. 100% agree that Holland is the true star of this movie and he should be getting a lot of credit for it.
