Paulo has dismissed talk he has already agreed to terms with a rival club having been linked with his former club Parramatta and the Cronulla Sharks with reports of a four-year, $2.7 million offer being tabled for the Samoan international.

Canberra Raiders chief executive Don Furner says the club "would love to keep" Paulo as he prepares for a clash with the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Central Coast Stadium on Saturday.

The Raiders haven't given up on re-signing the hulking 24-year-old but Furner admits he has no idea if Paulo will leave the club after contract negotiations stalled with a host of stars following a patchy start to the season.

However Paulo's potential departure would open the door for Canberra to make a move on a rival players or re-sign high-profile stars like Josh Papalii, Aidan Sezer, Blake Austin and Shannon Boyd.

The front-rower says he would "like to stay" in Canberra but he will leave the matter to his agent.

"No I haven’t agreed to terms [with Parramatta], there has only been offers from several clubs from Sydney," Paulo said.

"I’m trying to do my best here for the Raiders at the moment. Obviously I’d like to stay but I’m just trying to play some good footy at the moment and do what is right for our team here at Canberra.

"No I haven’t [spoken to the Eels], not since contract negotiations. It’s something I will leave up to my manager to do. I’ve got to be able to play good footy and I’m happy here at the Raiders at the moment.

"No I haven’t [spoken to Cronulla] as well. There’s obviously been contact through my manager and I have only been told it’s been several clubs from Sydney or elsewhere.

"My job right now is for the Raiders and that’s what I’m here to do."

Paulo joined the Raiders via Parramatta during the 2016 season in a bid to escape off-field drama and get his life back on track away from the Sydney rugby league bubble.

But he could return to the struggling Eels, who could be set to pay big overs to sign Paulo for the 2019 season in a bid to avoid the horrors of this year's ill-fated campaign.

The Eels are gearing up for a player clean-out with a host of underperforming stars off-contract next season but Paulo won't rush into a decision until "the time is right".

"It’s obviously going to come but it’s up to me to play some good footy and it will make my decision a lot easier if I’m playing good footy," Paulo said.

"Hopefully we get a good win this week against the Rabbitohs. I’ll take into consideration these offers but right now I’m just happy being here in Canberra and playing some good footy.

"Obviously I’ll be looking to find happiness with my career on the field and off the field as well so it’s definitely going to be a hard decision to take it but for now I’m focusing on playing the Rabbitohs this week."

Paulo says it the rumours surrounding his future are not unsettling as he looks to help the resurgent Raiders storm back into finals contention.

A Ricky Stuart spray proved to be the turning point in Canberra's season so far with the Green Machine racking up two straight wins to sit one game outside the top eight.

"They’re only reports, I don’t read them through the media or read newspapers away from footy," Paulo said.

"The decision will come when I’m happy to make one but for now I’m just looking to play good footy and hopefully that’s what I’ve been doing."
