But the recalled halfback will delay a decision on his next contract to focus on the Canberra Raiders' finals campaign, vowing to do whatever it takes to boost the team's chances of chasing a premiership.

Williams played his first NRL game in four months in the Raiders' 14-point win against Manly, their ninth victory in a row.

Rapana and Leilua combined for five tries between them, taking their tally to 28 (Rapana has 18 and Leilua has 10) for the year. It is the most dangerous right-side attack in the competition and they've promised more fireworks for the play-offs.

Williams, 25, stepped in as the link man in the absence of Blake Austin, who broke his hand last week and is in danger of missing the rest of the season after having surgery.

The Raiders have offered Williams a new one-year contract, while some rival clubs have expressed interest in luring him away from the capital.

He has largely played a back-up role this year behind Austin and Aidan Sezer, but says contract negotiations won't cloud his mind as the Raiders chase a top-two spot on the ladder.

Williams declared he doesn't feel any extra pressure in taking the playmaking reins for the crucial stage of the season and will ride a wave of excitement into the finals series.

"This is probably as excited as I've been for a while," Williams said.

"I'm not going to stress too much with contracts and the club has been really good about that. It's not something that will be on my mind for the next few weeks, I can't look too far ahead at the moment.

"I love this club and it is hard when you're watching because you want to be a part of it. That's why I've just been doing everything I can at [NSW Cup] level to be ready if I got a call.

"When you're coming in alongside guys like [Rapana and Leilua] you just want to not upset the rhythm and get them the ball.

"When Austo got injured it was just about me coming in and trying to do whatever was needed to help the club. We started with a basic style and we'll try to add more next week."

The Raiders will play the Wests Tigers on Sunday for a chance to win their 10th game in a row and set a club record for the most consecutive wins.

They have already locked in a top-four finish for the first time since 2003 and if they beat the Tigers and Cronulla lose to Melbourne, the Raiders could finish second for the first time in 19 years.

The Raiders will play either Cronulla or Melbourne in the first week of the finals and could host a play-off match in the opening week if they finish second.

Sezer left the Manly game with a sore shoulder but is expected to be fit for the clash against the unpredictable Tigers.

"Sam's a smart player as well," said coach Ricky Stuart.

"He's got a lot of experience and I think the run against Manly will be good for him after a few months in second grade where the intensity isn't as high or the speed as fast.

"He really only had one full session for us before the game so we can build on that."

Williams is keen to have even more of an impact in his second game as the link-man on Canberra's devastating right-side attack.

Rapana and Leilua continued their bromance with a five-try performance to turn the game for the Raiders, but Rapana conceded they needed to improve their defence.

"I love playing with Sammy, he gives you a lot of ball and a lot of opportunities," Rapana said.

"It was our first game in a while and because of that our defence was a bit scrappy so that's something that we're going to need to clean up going forward."

Prop Junior Paulo could come into selection contention this week if he has fully recovered from the rib problem that kept him out of the Manly match.

But even if the burly front-rower is unable to play, the Raiders are confident they've got enough depth to cover multiple positions in a finals campaign.
