Former Canberra Raiders forward Joel Edwards has signed a two-year deal with the Wests Tigers.
Edwards was contracted to the Raiders until the end of 2017, but requested a release from the remaining two years of his contract earlier this month.
After starting his NRL career with the Newcastle Knights, Edwards played 43 games in his first two seasons with the Raiders in 2013 and 2014.
However, he didn't play a game this season after he was dropped to the NSW Cup and then spent four months out after having surgery on a foot injury.
The Raiders have plenty of depth in the second-row, with English international Elliott Whitehead set to join Kangaroos forward Josh Papalii and Sia Soliola next season.
Edwards said he was excited at joining the Tigers. "Hopefully I can complement the side nicely and grow with the team," Edwards said.
"It's a young squad, but I'm really excited to work with the boys and hopefully help the club get into the top eight next year.
"It's a great opportunity to come into a young, exciting team with a lot of potential."
Raiders utility Josh McCrone (Dragons), halfback Mitch Cornish (Eels) and prop Mark Nicholls (Storm) are also set to change clubs next year.
