Raiders to play Manly in Albury on Easter Saturday

The Canberra Raiders will play Manly at Albury's Lavington Oval in round five on Easter Saturday after the city beat Dubbo in the race to host the fixture.

A Manly home game, the Sea Eagles were originally a chance to play the match at Dubbo, but Group 11 in NSW's central west fell just short of the money required to secure the April 4 fixture.

It allowed Albury to swoop and secure the first NRL competition match in the city's history.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has been vocal in his belief that every NRL side should be proactive in supporting bush football, calling for each team to send a game to the country every year.
