Gold Coast utility Will Zillman believes the replacement for departed halfback Scott Prince should come from the Titans' collection of rookie halves.
Zillman is one of several players touted as a possible replacement for Prince in the No.7 shirt in the 2013 NRL season, but the 26-year-old says he's not the man for the job.
The former Canberra flyer says young guns Jordan Rankin, Beau Henry and Albert Kelly are showing why they are the leading contenders to be the Titans' halfback.
"My spot in the team probably is at fullback," Zillman said on Wednesday.
"We've got some great younger guys that are looking to fill the shoes of Princey. They're big shoes to fill but we've got two or three guys that are really training the house down and vying for that position.
"There's already plenty of competition there and I think that'll bring the best out of us."
Another role left vacant at the Titans following Prince's departure is the captaincy, with Zillman among several candidates for the position.
State of Origin representatives Nate Myles and Ash Harrison are also believed to be in line for the captaincy.
Zillman, who said leading the Titans would be a "great honour", hoped the club would make a decision shortly.
"My guess would be that it is something the coaching staff would want to figure out quite quickly," he said.
"The quicker it's resolved the more pressure that's taken off us and we can just concentrate on starting to form our team and getting ready for round one."
